Battle of Chibi 赤壁之战

The Battle of Chibi (208 CE) is the same engagement as the Battle of Red Cliffs. The allied forces of Sun Quan and Liu Bei defeated Cao Cao's southern campaign.

The Battle of Chibi (赤壁之战) is the same engagement as the Battle of Red Cliffs. Chibi (赤壁) means ‘Red Cliffs’; the battle was fought there in the winter of 208 CE. Cao Cao’s fleet was destroyed by the allied forces of Sun Quan and Liu Bei, commanded by Zhou Yu. Cao Cao retreated north; the Yangtze became the de facto border and the tripartite division of Wei, Shu, and Wu was established.
