Dong Commandery (東郡) was a commandery of Yan Province on the central plains, in what is now the Puyang region of Henan. Chen Gong was from Dong Commandery; he first served Cao Cao then defected to Lü Bu and advised him until their capture at Xiapi. The county of Dong’e (東阿) lay within the commandery and was held by Cheng Yu against Lü Bu.
