The Iron Staff (铁戟 tiě jǐ) was the signature weapon of Dian Wei, Cao Cao’s personal bodyguard. At the Battle of Wancheng in 197, Dian Wei wielded twin iron staves to hold off hundreds of enemy soldiers, allowing Cao Cao to escape. The weapon was known for its devastating close-quarters power.

The Three Kingdoms period saw extensive use of various weapons and artifacts, each carrying both practical military value and symbolic significance. Weapons were often named and became associated with their famous wielders, passing into legend through the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
