Abdication禅让

Commander of the imperial guard and selector of military officers (中护军). A position of great trust, controlling access to the emperor and military appointments.

A mid-level military title (校尉 xiàowèi) for officers who commanded specialist or guard units; many variants existed in Han and Three Kingdoms armies.

A higher noble rank (县侯) with a fief comprising an entire county. More prestigious than district or village marquis.

A high noble title between marquis and king; used in the late Han and Three Kingdoms for the highest enfeoffments before the title of king.

The sovereign title of the ruler of China; the Han emperor's legitimacy was contested as warlords and kingdoms claimed authority.

A naming system for years (年号) used by Chinese emperors to mark their reign periods. Each emperor could declare multiple era names to mark significant events.
