Jiangxia (江夏) was a commandery of Jing Province on the middle Yangtze, in what is now the Wuhan region of Hubei. Liu Biao appointed Huang Zu as Administrator; Sun Jian was killed fighting Huang Zu’s forces. Liu Qi, Liu Biao’s eldest son, was sent to Jiangxia. Cheng Pu was from Jiangxia and served the Sun family. After Liu Biao’s death, Sun Quan took much of Jiangxia; the commandery remained contested between Wu and the successors to Jing.
