Jiyang (棘陽; in some sources 濟陽) was a county in Yiyang Commandery, Jing Province, in what is now the Nanyang area of Henan. Deng Ai was born there. He rose from humble origins to become one of Cao Wei’s leading generals and in 263 led the army through Yinping that forced Liu Shan’s surrender and ended Shu Han.
