Linju (臨沮) was a county in Jing Province in what is now the Yuan’an area of Hubei. When Lu Meng took Jiangling in 219, Guan Yu retreated from Fancheng and was captured by Sun Quan’s forces in the Linju area. He was then executed. (Guan Yu’s birthplace was in Hedong, not Linju; Linju is associated with his death.)
