Chen Tai 陈泰 Xuanbo 玄伯

Wei general; son of Chen Qun; defended the western frontier against Jiang Wei; died at Yong Province after the fall of Tazhong.

Chen Tai (simplified: 陈泰, traditional: 陳泰, pinyin: Chén Tài), courtesy name Xuanbo (玄伯), was a general of Cao Wei and the son of Chen Qun. He held commands on the western frontier and fought Jiang Wei’s northern expeditions. When Jiang Wei besieged Tazhong (狄道), Chen Tai led relief forces and coordinated with Guo Huai; they broke the siege. He was later Governor of Yong Province and General Who Guards the West. He died in 260. Chen Tai was respected for his ability and integrity.
