The Feather Fan (羽扇 yǔ shàn) was Zhuge Liang’s iconic accessory, a white crane-feather fan that he carried at all times. In the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Zhuge Liang is depicted fanning himself calmly even in the heat of battle, symbolising his composed strategic genius. The fan, paired with his Phoenix Feather Cape, became the defining visual image of Zhuge Liang in Chinese art, opera, and popular culture.
