Guan Ping (simplified: 关平, traditional: 關平, pinyin: Guān Píng) was Guan Yu’s eldest son. He served under Liu Bei with his father. When Guan Yu was defeated and captured west of Maicheng by Sun Quan’s forces (between January and February 220), Guan Ping was captured with him. Both were executed at Linju (臨沮). In the Romance of the Three Kingdoms Guan Ping is portrayed as Guan Yu’s adopted son; in history he was Guan Yu’s biological son.
