Sun Lin (simplified: 孙綝, traditional: 孫綝, pinyin: Sūn Chēn), courtesy name Zitong (子通), was a general of Eastern Wu and cousin of Sun Jun. When Sun Jun died in 256, Sun Lin took over his military and political power. He dominated the court under Sun Liang and in 258 deposed Sun Liang, installing Sun Xiu as emperor. Sun Xiu, with Ding Feng and others, then had Sun Lin removed and killed. Sun Lin’s reign as regent was marked by factional violence and the removal of the young emperor.
