Wu County (吳縣) was the chief county of Wu Commandery in the lower Yangtze region. It developed as one of the principal urban centres of Jiangdong.
Because of its position in the Sun family’s core territory, Wu County remained important throughout the period of Eastern Wu as an administrative and transport hub.
