Yang Huiyu (simplified: 羊徽瑜, traditional: 羊徽瑜, pinyin: Yáng Huīyú) was the father of Yang Hu, a prominent general and statesman of Cao Wei who played a crucial role in planning the conquest of Eastern Wu.
Biography
Yang Huiyu served as an official during the Cao Wei period. Little is recorded of his own career in the historical sources, but he is remembered as the father of Yang Hu, one of the most important military strategists of the late Wei period.
Yang Hu (221–278 CE) served as a general and statesman under the Wei regent Sima Zhao and later under the Western Jin dynasty. He was instrumental in planning the conquest of Eastern Wu, though he died before the campaign was launched. His strategic recommendations were later implemented by Du Yu and other generals, leading to the reunification of China under the Jin dynasty in 280 CE.
