Zhu Cai 朱才 Yunye 君業

Zhu Zhi's eldest son; succeeded to his father's marquisate; General of the Side; earned merit in battle alongside Zhu Zhi.

Zhu Cai (simplified: 朱才, traditional: 朱才, pinyin: Zhū Cái), courtesy name Yunye (君業), was Zhu Zhi’s eldest son. He earned military merit fighting alongside his father and was known for his respect and virtue. After Zhu Zhi’s death in 224, Zhu Cai succeeded to his father’s marquisate (Marquis of Guzhang) and was promoted to General of the Side (偏將軍). He also held the rank of Colonel of the Firm Guard (定武中郎將). His brothers included Zhu Ji (who married Sun Ce’s daughter); Zhu Ran was Zhu Zhi’s adopted son (nephew by blood).
