The Battle of Luo County (雒县之战) refers to the siege of Luocheng (雒城) in 214 during Liu Bei’s campaign to take Yi Province from Liu Zhang. Pang Tong led the attack and was hit by an arrow and died. Liu Zhang’s son Liu Xun held the city for about a year. After Luocheng fell, Liu Bei advanced on Chengdu; Zhuge Liang, Zhang Fei, and Zhao Yun joined from Jing Province, and Liu Zhang surrendered. The battle is remembered chiefly for Pang Tong’s death.
