Guangling (廣陵) was a commandery of Xu Province on the lower Huai and the coast in what is now the Yangzhou region of Jiangsu. Hailing (海陵) was one of its counties. Lü Dai was from Hailing in Guangling. He served Sun Quan for decades as a general and administrator in the south and lived to an advanced age.
