Langya Commandery (琅邪郡, also written 琅琊 and read Langye) was a commandery of Xu Province on the eastern coast in what is now the Linyi area of Shandong. Yangdu (陽都) was one of its counties. Zhuge Liang was from Yangdu in Langya. He left the north during the civil wars, settled in Jing Province, and later joined Liu Bei to become Shu Han’s chief minister. His brother Zhuge Jin and nephew Zhuge Ke were from Langye (Qi County). See also Langye.
