Linhuai (臨淮) was a commandery of Xu Province on the Huai River in what is now northern Jiangsu and Anhui. Lu Su, who succeeded Zhou Yu as Sun Quan’s chief strategist and advocated lending Jing to Liu Bei, was from Linhuai. Lou Xuan was also from Linhuai. Huaiyin, the native county of Bu Zhi and Chen Deng, was in Linhuai Commandery.
