Jizhou (冀州) was a province on the North China Plain, covering what is now much of Hebei. It became Yuan Shao’s base after he took it from Han Fu. Ju Shou and Tian Feng were from Guangping (廣平) in Jizhou and served as Yuan Shao’s chief strategists; both advised against the campaign that led to defeat at Guandu and suffered for their outspokenness.
