Qufu (曲阜) was a county in the state of Lu (魯國), Yan Province, in what is now Qufu, Shandong. It was the birthplace of Confucius and the ancestral home of the Kong family. Kong Rong was born there. He became a prominent scholar and Administrator of Beihai before falling foul of Cao Cao and being executed.
