County in Lujiang Commandery, Yang Province; birthplace of Zhou Yu.
Location
Shu County (舒縣) was a county in Lujiang Commandery, Yang Province, in what is now the Shucheng area of Anhui. Zhou Yu was born there. He was a childhood friend of Sun Ce, served as Sun Quan’s chief general, and with Liu Bei’s forces defeated Cao Cao at the Battle of Red Cliffs. See also Lujiang.
