The Palace Attendant (侍中 shìzhōng) was a senior court advisor with direct access to the emperor. During the Three Kingdoms, Palace Attendants served as personal counsellors and intermediaries. Dong Yun held this position under Liu Shan, using it to check the influence of the eunuch Huang Hao.
