Pingyu (平輿) was a county in Runan Commandery, Yu Province, corresponding to modern Pingyu County in Henan. Xu Jing, who later served Liu Bei and became Minister over the Masses in Shu Han, was from Pingyu. Xu Yang is also recorded as being from Pingyu in some sources. Runan and its counties produced many officials and scholars in the Han and Three Kingdoms periods.
