Jingkou 京口

Strategic port and garrison on the Yangtze in Wu; Sun Deng was enfeoffed there; key base for Sun Quan's regime.

Jingkou (京口) was a port and garrison on the Yangtze in Wu territory, in what is now Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. It controlled the river crossing and was a vital military and supply base for Sun Quan’s regime. Sun Deng, Sun Quan’s crown prince, was enfeoffed at Jingkou and took part in the defence of the lower Yangtze before his early death.
