Ma Bichang (simplified: 马伯常, traditional: 馬伯常, pinyin: Mǎ Bócháng) was the eldest of the “Five Ma brothers” (馬氏五常) from Yicheng, Xiangyang Commandery. The five brothers—Ma Bichang, Ma Zhongchang, Ma Shuchang, Ma Liang, and Ma Su—all had talent and reputation; their courtesy names contained the character “chang” (常).
