Sun Yu (simplified: 孫瑜, traditional: 孫瑜, pinyin: Sūn Yú), courtesy name Zhongyi (仲異), was the son of Sun Jing (Sun Jian’s younger brother) and elder brother of Sun Jiao. He served Sun Ce and Sun Quan as a general and commanded troops in the Danyang–Jiangxia region. When Sun Jiao was appointed to replace Cheng Pu at Xiakou and given overall authority, he merged Huang Gai’s and Sun Yu’s troops under a single command. Sun Yu’s death date is not clearly recorded in the main sources.
