Empress Xie (simplified: 謝夫人, traditional: 謝夫人, pinyin: Xiè Fūrén) was Sun Quan’s first wife. She came from a noted family in Kuaiji (present-day Shaoxing) and was recommended to Sun Quan by his mother, Lady Wu. She was initially favoured. When Sun Quan wished to take Lady Xu (Lady Xu) as a concubine, he asked Lady Xie to accept a lower status to accommodate her. Lady Xie refused, lost Sun Quan’s favour, and died at a relatively young age, reportedly of grief. Her brother Xie Cheng (謝承) later served as an official and historian under Wu.
