Lady Qiao, known as Xiao Qiao (simplified: 小乔, traditional: 小喬, pinyin: Xiǎo Qiáo), was the younger of the Two Qiaos (二喬), two sisters from Wan County whose personal names were not recorded. She married Zhou Yu around 199 when he and Sun Ce took Wan. Her elder sister, Da Qiao, married Sun Ce. In the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Cao Cao’s alleged desire for the two sisters is used to spur Zhou Yu to oppose him at Red Cliffs; the tale is not historical. Xiao Qiao bore Zhou Yu sons including Zhou Xun, Zhou Yin, and Zhou Dun.
