Liu Yi (simplified: 刘翊, traditional: 劉翊, pinyin: Liú Yì) was from Yingchuan and served as Administrator of Runan (汝南). When Xu Shao was Registrar in Runan and excluded Xu Jing from employment, Liu Yi, as Administrator, recommended Xu Jing as a Clerk (計吏) and Filial and Incorrupt candidate (孝廉). Xu Jing was then appointed Gentleman of the Masters of Writing (尚書郎). Xu Jing counted Liu Yi as the first of the many lords he served. Few other details of Liu Yi’s life are recorded in the sources.
